Maurizo Cattelan.."Toilet Paper"

Hello everybody!!! Today i'm so excited!!!
Why? Well, yesterday morning I received a parcel post by Amazon.it ...
So, finally I can tell you about my new Post.
How much is Maurizo Cattelan amazing?. His ideas are so brilliant that I was very curious to have the first issue of his personal magazine called "Toilet paper"...
But now just a few lines to describe the great Cattelan and his philosophy:  Cattelan is a bizzare Italian Artist, through his scupltures, actions and performances, he makes fun of the world of art ( "Z" zorro, a parody of Lucio Fontana) but also he criticizes all the political developments, all social hierarchies and the economical affairs linked to the contemporary Life! Humor, Parody, Sarcasm are the special key words in his art.
I really LoVe his art... I think that Cattelan is one of the best artists  to represent the absurdity of our  society.
I'm sure I will tell you more and more about him in the future!

Perchè? Ieri mattina ho ricevuto un pacco postale da Amazon.it.
Così, finalmente vi posso parlare del mio mio nuovo post.
Ditemi quanto è incredibile l'arte di Maurizo Cattelan? Le sue idee sono così geniali che non ho potuto resistere alla tentazione di ordinare on-line il primo numero del suo giornale  "Toilet Paper"..
Ma prima poche linee per descrivere chi è Cattelan e la sua filosofia : Maurizo Cattelan è un eccentrico artista italiano. Attraverso le sue installazioni, sculture, azioni e performance, si prende gioco del mondo dell'arte ( Z» di Zorro, una parodia al taglio di Lucio Fontana) ,critica le dinamiche della produzione culturale, le politiche, le gerarchie sociali,gli interessi economici che dominano la vita contemporanea. Nei suoi interventi si avverte sempre il gusto dello spettacolo, dell'umorismo, del grottesco.
Io AdOro la sua arte... per me, uno dei più grandi artisti capace di rappresentare l'assurdità della nostra società. 
Sono certa che parlerò ancora di lui in futuro!!!.

ZOLOTO.. Roberto Cuoghi

ZOLOTO... 
Yes, I have just come back the inauguration of ZOLOTO the new exhibition of Roberto Cuoghi.
The guiding force of the artist's solo show at the gallery MDC, in Milan, is the caricature of his work. The intolerance the artist feels, on the rebound, concerning the meaning attributed to his work is on display in the form of PARODY. Each face is a response, self- congratulatory ,like the series that refers to a brand of cheap cigars. 
The caricature supposition continues in the show through a sort of ridicule of Babylonian God: Pazuzu.
In my opinion it is a very original show!!!


ZOLOTO...
Si, sono appena tornata dall'inaugurazione di ZOLOTO la nuova mostra di Roberto Cuoghi.
Il motivo guida della mostra dell'artista alla galleria "MDC", a Milano, è la caricatura al proprio lavoro. L'insofferenza che l'artista avverte, di rimbalzo, riguardo ai significati attribuiti al proprio lavoro è in mostra sotto forma di PARODIA. Ogni volto è una risposta autocelebrativa,  come la serie che si riferisce a una marca di sigari economici. Il presupposto caricaturale prosegue in mostra attraverso una sorta di messa in ridicolo del Dio Babilonese: Pazuzu.
Secondo me è una mostra davvero originale!!!

 

Lucio Fontana

This post is dedicated to Lucio Fontana (19 February 1899 – 7 September 1968)  an Italian painter, sculptor and  founder of Spatialism.                                                       
it is necessary to remind Fontana because he is one of the most important and appreciated artist in the world. 


Questo é necessario per ricordare un artista come Fontana tra i più quotati al mondo.


From the dense sequences of the initial period Fontana moves on to the sculptural clarity and monumentality of the single cuts or Tagli in which monochrome surfaces prevail and black gauze strips attached to the rear of the support, close in the laceration. The Tagli represent an exemplary creative gesture, isolated within their context of elemental and conceptual purity.
Two weeks ago I went to "Museo del 900 " in Milan where I took two pictures:


Dalle fitte sequenze iniziali,Fontana passa al nitore scultoreo e alla monumentalità dei Tagli unici, nei quali prevalgono le superfici monocrome. I Tagli rappresentano il gesto creativo per eccellenza, isolato nella sua purezza elementare e concettuale.
Due settimane fa sono andata al "Museo del 900" a Milano dove ho scattato due foto:

Massimo Giacon "At Work, At Home, At Play"

Since 1980 Massimo Giacon has worked in Milan making comics, as an illustrator, designer, artist and musician.
The new funny solo show in galleria "Antonio Colombo"by Massimo Giacon “At Work, At Home, At Play”, a series of drawings showing the world of the costumed fans of comics fairs and their printed counterparts, explored by the artist in a surprising way. The show includes 20 new works (+1) of medium size (30 x 40 cm) done in mixed media on paper, prepared specifically for this exhibition.

Massimo Giacon dal 1980 lavora a Milano sospeso tra le sue diverse attività di fumettista, illustratore, designer, artista e musicista.

La nuova divertente mostra ,alla galleria "Antonio Colombo", di  Massimo Giacon “At Work, At Home , At Play” concettualizza una serie di disegni ritraenti il mondo dei frequentatori in costume delle fiere del fumetto, e il loro doppio cartaceo, rivisitato dall'autore in maniera sorprendente. Si tratta di 20 lavori inediti (+1) di medio formato (30 x 40 cm) che l'autore ha realizzato con tecniche miste su carta appositamente per la mostra.

Hiroyuki Nakajima "Shizen"

Being intrerested in the oriental art I couldn't  quote a Japanese artist: Hiroyuki Nakajima, who has opened his new exhibition in galleria “Nobili” in Milan.
The title of this exhibition is ＜SHIZEN＞. “ SHIZEN ” is “ Nature”in English. 25 works are shown in the gallery. All the works are made by characters that represent nature, for example :sun, moon, water, wind…. 
In the West, nature is regarded as a concept that human beings stand against. But in the East, the word nature means not only natural environment but also human beings. Human beings are considered as a part of nature. When the work is made,the artist  keeps himself as a part of  nature. The running of ink spreads slowly on the paper. After drying, his masterpiece is finally finished. It is unexpected and beyond the control of the human hands.

“Techniques of control are a natural phenomenon, but I accept the accidental nature and incorporate its beauty into my works.”…says the artist.                                                                                                                                


Essendomi avvicinata all’arte orientale, non potevo non citare un’artista giapponese Hiroyuki Nakajima che nella galleria” Nobili” a Milano da vita alla sua nuova mostra.
Il titolo della mostra è ＜SHIZEN／Natura＞. “ SHIZEN ” è “ Natura”in italiano. Ci sono 25 lavori calligrafici nella galleria. Tutti gli ideogrammi rappresentano la natura. Per esempio: sole,luna,acqua,vento…. Da molto tempo, in Giappone si crede che gli Dei vivano in tutte le cose della natura. Nell'Ovest, la parola “ natura ” significa ambiente naturale. Ma nell'Est, la natura include non solo l’ambiente ma anche l’ uomo. L’uomo è considerato come una parte di essa.Le opere sono tutte realizzate collaborando con le forze della natura stessa.Dopo aver preparato l’inchiostro "sumi", che l’artista utilizza per tracciare i segni grafici, esso si estende lentamente. Quando l’inchiostro “matura” ecco che  l’ opera è completata.

“Questo fenomeno supera il controllo delle mie mani. Ma io accetto la natura nei miei lavori”….dice l'artista.

Gary Baseman

Do you know anything about Gary Baseman?
I’m sure you have already heard about him…
Known as the designer and author  of the famous Emmy-winning ABC/Disney cartoon series, Teacher’s Pet, 

and also famous for the creation of the board game called: “Cranium” ...  

Gary Baseman is now coming to Milan with his new 

exhibition at Galleria “Antonio Colombo” titled “Vicious”:

The exhibition focuses on “hunger” as a basic instinct that reflects the animal that exists in every human being. But what are the new, curious toothy creatures invented by Baseman hungry for?
“Basically, they only want some love and affection – the artist says – but their hunger is so great that it is transformed into viciousness”.
These works have been created specifically for this show, and they include new characters for the first time, new personalities in the rich fantasy imagery of the American artist: let’s have a look… I was so impressed!.

Avete mai sentito parlare di Gary Baseman?

Sono sicura che lo conoscete…
Famoso per essere il designer e autore del famoso cartone animato Disney Teacher’s Pet vincitore di tre Emmy Awards  e designer del gioco da tavolo chiamato”Cranium”, Gary Baseman è arrivato a Milano con la sua nuova mostra alla Galleria “Antonio Colombo” intitolata: “Vicious”:
La mostra è incentrata sul tema della “fame”, un istinto primario che riflette il lato bestiale presente in ogni uomo. Ma di cosa sono affamate le nuove e curiose creature zannute inventate da Baseman?
“In fondo, esse non cercano altro che amore e affetto”- afferma l’artista - “ma la loro fame è così grande da trasformarsi in ferocia”.
Si tratta di opere create appositamente per l’occasione, in cui compaiono per la prima volta nuovi personaggi, che arricchiscono l’immaginario fantastico dell’artista statunitense: Guardate un po’ …. Io sono rimasta senza parole!.
